NBAC’s Michael Phelps, just a few weeks away from selling out the Mona Plummer Aquatics Complex as a special attraction during the Arizona State vs. Arizona dual meet, cruised into the third seed in the men’s 100-yard fly with a 53.07 at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando. He’s ranked second in the world this year with a 51.94 from Austin.

Men’s 100 fly
Brazil’s Henrique Martins picked up the top time this morning in the 100 fly with a 52.99. That moved him to 16th in the world rankings this year.
California’s Tom Shields, already ranked fourth in the world with a 52.39 at the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series, qualified second in 53.04.

Laszlo Cseh owns the top-ranked time in the world with a 51.40 from the Luxembourg Euro Meet.
Eugene Godsoe, now representing Wolfpack Swimming in North Carolina, qualified fourth in 53.21.
Phoenix’s Giles Smith (53.26), Seminole’s Pavel Sankovich (53.38), Wolfpack’s David Williams (53.56) and Argentina’s Santiago Grassi (53.64) also set themselves up to compete in the top eight.
