Kaitlyn Dobler has broken the National Public High School record – as well as the overall National High School mark – in the 100 breast at the Oregon 6A State Championships.

While representing Aloha High School at the state meet hosted by Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center on Feb. 22, Dobler blasted a time of 58.35 during finals of the 100 breast to etch her name into the history books. Her winning time eclipsed Emily Weiss’ public and overall record of 58.40 set on Feb. 10, 2018.

Her splits:

  • 50 breast – 27.50
  • 100 breast – 58.35 (30.85)

Alex Walsh’s time of 58.88 set in 2018 still stands as the National Independent High School record.

Dobler now ranks fourth all-time for 17-18 history in the 100 breast:

1. Miranda Tucker – 58.10
2. Zoie Hartman – 58.27
3. Alexis Wegner – 58.31
4. Kaitlyn Dobler – 58.35
5. Breeja Larson – 58.51

Dobler swims year-round with The Dolphins Portland Swimming and is a member of the USA National Team. At the FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest this past summer, she earned silver in the 100m breast and bronze in the 50m breast. She recently won three events at Juniors West and was the 100m breast runner-up at Phillips 66 Nationals in August.

She has committed to the USC Trojans beginning in the fall of 2020.
