Women’s 200 free
NCAP’s Katie Ledecky turned in the second-fastest 200-meter freestyle this year at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.
Ledecky, after posting a lifetime best time of 1:54.43 at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin to become the fourth-fastest performer all time, blazed her way to a 1:55.73 tonight. That’s faster than the second-ranked 1:55.96 posted by Emma McKeon earlier this year in Australia.
Colorado Stars’ Missy Franklin, who is looking to get back to her dominant ways, finished second in 1:57.67. That’s just off her eighth-ranked season best of 1:57.49 from Austin as well.
NBAC’s Allison Schmitt picked up third-place honors in a time of 1:58.18 to move to 12th in the world rankings at this point in the season.
Saint Petersburg’s Melanie Margalis (1:58.38), Brazil’s Manuela Lyrio (1:58.59), BlueFish’s Elizabeth Beisel (2:00.29), Queens’ Patricia Castro Ortega (2:00.36) and Stanford’s Simone Manuel (2:02.61) also competed in the finale.
Scottsdale’s Taylor Ruck powered her way to the B final win in 1:59.78. NBAC’s Easop Lee, also 15, took second in 1:59.90.

Women’s 100 breast
Trojan’s Yuliya Efimova turned in a world best in the women’s 100-meter breast at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.
Efimova clocked a winning time of 1:05.70. That swim far surpassed the 1:06.58 she shared with Japan’s Rie Kaneto earlier this year. That’s less than a second off her career best of 1:05.02 set at the 2013 World Championships that ranks her fourth all time in the event’s history.
Tennessee’s Molly Hannis turned in a 1:07.37 for second tonight, off her 1:07.26 from prelims. Saint Petersburg’s Melanie Margalis tied Hannis with a 1:07.37 of her own for the final podium spot, moving to sixth in the world rankings.
Gator’s Hilda Luthersdottir (1:08.10), Irish’s Emma Reaney (1:09.25), Badger’s Emily McClellan (1:09.73), Argentina’s Julia Sebastian (1:10.38) and T2’s Justine Bowker (1:10.80) also competed in the A final.
PCSC’s Ashley McGregor won the B final with a time of 1:10.40. Jennifer Wilson wound up second in 1:10.84.

Gomes touched out Prenot at the all, 1:00.64 to 1:00.66, in what proved to be an exciting finish throughout the finale.

Men’s 100 fly
NBAC’s Michael Phelps raced his way to another Arena Series victory in the men’s 100-meter fly at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.
Phelps turned in a time of 52.28 for the win. That’s not far off his sizzling 51.94 from the Austin stop of the Arena Series that ranks him second in the world.
Phelps went out in a sizzling time of 24.62 and held off a hard-charging Tom Shields for the win.
California’s Shields took second in 52.35. That’s better than his fourth-ranked 52.39 from Austin earlier this year, but wasn’t enough to track down Phelps.
Brazil’s Henrique Martins took third overall in 52.59, while Club Seminole’s Pavel Sankovich placed fourth in 52.71.
Phoenix’s Giles Smith (53.16), Wolfpack’s Eugene Godsoe (53.45), Argentina’s Santiago Grassi (53.46) and Wolfpack’s David Williams (54.26) also swam in the heat.
NBAC’s David Nolan, Phelps’ training partner in what has been dubbed NBAC Southwest at Arizona State University, won the B final in 53.03. Marius Kusch took second in 53.58.
