Trojan’s Conor Dwyer met with the media after winning the men’s 200-meter free at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.

Dwyer made a move up the world rankings with his swim today, and talks about how that impacts his training going forward.

Trojan’s Conor Dwyer collected the men’s 200-meter free crown at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.

Dwyer raced his way into sixth in the world rankings with a time of 1:46.96.  That’s less than a second behind Velimir Stjepanovic’s top-ranked effort of 1:46.10 from the Luxembourg Euro Meet.

Queens’ Dion Dreesens finished second tonight in 1:48.17 with Brazil’s Nicolas Oliveira taking third overall in 1:48.49.

Trojan’s Nikita Lobintsev (1:49.33), Brazil’s Joao De Lucca (1:49.65), Italy’s Andrea D’Arrigo (1:49.66), Club Wolverine’s Michael Klueh (1:50.36) and Badger’s Zane Grothe (1:50.44) rounded out the top eight.

Gator’s Dan Wallace turned in a 1:49.22 to claim the B final tonight.  Italy’s Luca Dotto placed second in 1:50.99.
