Thiago Pereira Clinches 200 IM Title in Orlando

Brazil’s Thiago Pereira raced his way to victory in the men’s 200-meter IM at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.

Pereira cranked out a time of 1:59.82 to touchout fellow Brazilian Henrique Rodrigues, who placed second in 1:59.97.  Pereira moved up to ninth in the world with Rodrigues finishing 12th in the world.

Trojan’s Conor Dwyer took third overall in 2:00.03 for 13th in the world, while Gator’s Eduardo Solaeche finished fourth in 2:01.20.

Gator’s Sebastien Rousseau (2:03.45), California’s Marcin Tarczynski (2:03.97), Wisconsin’s Michael Weiss (2:05.18) and NBAC’s Austin Surhoff (2:06.30) also swam in the final heat.

Gator’s Dan Wallace wins the B final in a time of 2:02.53. Club Seminole’s Pavel Sankovich placed second in 2:03.56.
