Missy Franklin qualified for her second individual event for Rio after finishing second in the women’s 200 back. She stopped the clock in 2:07.89, one second behind winner Maya DiRado.
Franklin will get the opportunity to defend her title next month in Rio. In London, she won gold in this event and set a new world record in 2:04.06.
The two-time Olympian talked about how this weekend has been a roller coaster of emotions and expressed her disappointment in not making the team in the 100 back.
She talked to the media about turning professional, living up to expectations, and how she has learned a lot about herself this week.
