Northwestern Adds Two More for 2023 From Audrey J-Cheng, Amy Pan

NEW COMMIT: Northwestern University has picked up two more verbal commitments for the fall of 2023 from Los Altos, Calif. native Audrey J-Cheng and Amy Pan of Farmington Hills, Mich.

She will join Maggie Papanicholas, Maggie BelbotLexi Greenhawt, May Peterson, and Sydney Smith as a member of the Wildcats’ Class of 2027.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Northwestern University! I would like to thank everyone for supporting me through this process, especially my coaches, friends, and family! Can’t wait to be a part of this amazing team! GO CATS!!”

J-Cheng does her club swimming with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and most recently placed eighth in the 200 breast and 10th in the 400 IM at the Speedo Winter West Championships earlier this month. This past summer, she posted four top-12 finishes at Roseville Sectionals. She is a junior at Sacred Heart Prep High School and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:01.58
  • 200 breast – 2:13.89
  • 200 IM – 2:01:33
  • 400 IM 4:17.23
  • 200 free – 1:48.72

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Northwestern University! I am so thankful for the support of my coaches, teammates, and family throughout this entire process. Go Wildcats!!”

Pan, who trains year-round with Farmington Family YMCA, raced three events at the Speedo Winter East Championships. Last spring, she raced to seventh in the 100m free and eighth in the 100m back at Elkhart Sectionals and finaled in three events at the 18&U TYR Richmond Spring Cup. She is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 55.02
  • 200 back – 1:59.50
  • 50 free – 23.05
  • 100 free – 49.97
