Northwestern Gets 2023 Verbal From Butterflyer Maggie Belbot of North Baltimore Aquatic Club

NEW COMMIT: Northwestern University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from Maggie Belbot of Baltimore, Maryland.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Northwestern University! I’d like to thank my family, coaches, friends, and all those who supported me along the way. I can’t wait to be a wildcat!! ??”

Belbot trains year-round with North Baltimore Aquatic Club and finaled in the 100m fly this past summer at the Speedo Summer East Championships after earning silver in that event at the ISCA International Senior Cup back in March. In February 2020, she won three events at Maryland Seniors.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 53.36
  • 200 fly – 1:59.53
  • 200 free – 1:48.30
  • 100 free – 50.28
  • 200 IM – 2:00.77
  • 100 breast – 1:02.68
  • 200 breast – 2:16.88

Currently a junior at Bryn Mawr School, Belbot is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Belbot will be a great addition to the Wildcats’ lineup, as she would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100/200 fly as well as the C-final of the 200 free at the 2021 Big Ten Championships.
