Madisyn Cox Surges to 200 Breast Victory at Santa Clara Pro Series

Women’s 200 Breast
Madisyn Cox surged to victory in the women’s 200 breast, moving up from her fourth place seed to claim the win by more than a second. Cox stopped the clock at a strong 2:25.62, entering the top 20 world rankings for 2017.
Top seed Emily Escobedo slid to second with a final time of 2:26.91, while Marina Garcia Urzainqui grabbed third with a time of 2:28.11.
Melissa Rodriguez turned in a fourth place finish of 2:28.21, followed by Esther Gonzalez Medina’s 2:28.86.
Riley Scott collected sixth with a time of 2:28.97, just ahead of Zoe Bartel and her time of 2:30.92.
Stanford teammates Kim Williams and Allie Szekely completed the ‘A’ final with times of 2:31.79 and 2:32.97 respectively.
