NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has received their fourth verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from quickly-improving Ryan Merani of Lutherville Timonium, Md.

He will join Brady McInerney, Logan Smith and Logan Ingerick as a member of the Wildcats’ Class of 2026.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Kentucky! I want to thank God, and all my friends, family, and coaches who have helped me along the way. Go Cats!”

Merani trains year-round with North Baltimore Aquatic Club and most recently picked up 10 new best times at the ISCA International Senior Cup last month where he won the 400m free and 400m IM. In February 2020, he had a great showing at Maryland Seniors en route to posting eight final appearances.

He also won the 100m fly and 200m IM at Maryland LCM Seniors in August 2019. Kentucky women and SEC champions Lauren Poole and Megan Drumm are also products of NBAC.
