Kentucky Wildcats Dive Into 2022 Recruiting with Verbal from Academy Aquatic Club’s Logan Ingerick

NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has received a verbal commitment from Tampa, Fla. native Logan Ingerick who will arrive in Lexington at the start of the 2022-23 season.

He is the Wildcats’ first public verbal commitment for their Class of 2026.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“i am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the university of kentucky! huge thank you to my parents, grandparents, coaches, and fellow teammates for all the support over the years! go cats!”

A versatile swimmer, Ingerick does his club swimming with Academy Aquatic Club and most recently recorded two best times at the Florida OT Qualifier in February where his highest finish was a 17th-place showing in the 200m IM. In February 2019, he finished fifth in the 400 IM at the Florida Spring Championships.

In summer 2019, he finaled in two events at Gainesville Sectionals before going on to place 23rd in the 200m IM at Greensboro Futures.

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:51.35
  • 400 IM – 4:02.42
  • 100 free – 45.93
  • 200 free – 1:41.82
  • 500 free – 4:37.02
  • 100 back – 51.28
  • 200 back – 1:52.68

Currently a junior at Berkeley Prep School, Ingerick is already a four-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist. He was the runner-up in the 200 IM and placed sixth in the 100 back as a sophomore while taking 12th in the 200 free and 14th in the 500 free during his freshman season.

The Wildcats finished seventh overall in the team standings at the 2020 SEC Championships under head coach Lars Jorgensen. They also qualified five swimmers for the NCAA Championships – their most in a decade.
