NCAP’s Katie Ledecky turned in the second-fastest 200-meter freestyle this year at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.

Ledecky, after posting a lifetime best time of 1:54.43 at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin to become the fourth-fastest performer all time, blazed her way to a 1:55.73 tonight.  That’s faster than the second-ranked 1:55.96 posted by Emma McKeon earlier this year in Australia.

Colorado Stars’ Missy Franklin, who is looking to get back to her dominant ways, finished second in 1:57.67.  That’s just off her eighth-ranked season best of 1:57.49 from Austin as well.

NBAC’s Allison Schmitt picked up third-place honors in a time of 1:58.18 to move to 12th in the world rankings at this point in the season.

Saint Petersburg’s Melanie Margalis (1:58.38), Brazil’s Manuela Lyrio (1:58.59), BlueFish’s Elizabeth Beisel (2:00.29), Queens’ Patricia Castro Ortega (2:00.36) and Stanford’s Simone Manuel (2:02.61) also competed in the finale.

Scottsdale’s Taylor Ruck powered her way to the B final win in 1:59.78.  NBAC’s Easop Lee, also 15, took second in 1:59.90.
