Not a lot of Division II teams will be in action over Veterans Day weekend as a lot of teams are taking the weekend off to get prepared for their November invitationals before Thanksgiving. A few teams that are in action are quality teams in Nova Southeastern, Northern Michigan and Delta State.

Nova Southeastern will be hosting Junior College Indian River on Friday night. Indian River has been the dominant Junior College team for a while as they will face a Nova Southeast team ranked in the top ten for both genders. The women have already defeated Drury in the Division II Fall Showcase in October and also won their Shark Invitational that included Carson Newman, Indianapolis and Indian River.

Northern Michigan has been a team on the rise this semester as they have rapidly improved over the last year. They will be hosting UW Stevens Point on Saturday. Their women’s team has been impressive early thanks to Rachel Helm and Lena Soulas.

Delta State is another team who has impressed early thanks to Italian freshmen Giulio Brugnoni and Lucia Martelli. They will be swimming a doubleheader on Friday with conference opponents Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State in Arkadelphia on Friday.

Martelli and Brugnoni are two of the best swimmers in Division II as they have really helped Delta State this semester. After this weekend, Delta State will have a lot of time off before they host their Christmas Invite December 16-19.
