With eight nights of live TV broadcasts coming up, the NBC Sports crew of Tommy Roy (producer), Dan Hicks (play-by-play), Rowdy Gaines (analyst) and Michele Tafoya spoke to the press at the CenturyLink Center Saturday morning.
Roy discussed much of the technology that NBC uses the cover swimming and some of the camera angles they will introduce Sunday. Hicks and Gaines explained how their chemistry has developed over the years—these Olympics will be their sixth as a commentary duo—and Tafoya explained what she has enjoyed the most about covering swimming, even though the Trials will be just her second-ever swim meet (after last summer’s World Championships).
