2016 Olympic bronze medalist Kylie Masse finished second in an exciting race on the third day of the TYR Pro Swim Series Santa Clara. She got to the wall in 59.76, just .01 behind winner Regan Smith. Masse is the current world record holder in the event with a 58.10.

Masse, who swims for Swim Ontario and represents Canada internationally, discusses her performances at the Commonwealth Games. She said she isn’t too focused on her times in Santa Clara, but rather on the process and putting together a good race.

She also talks about being a role model for younger swimmers on her team and her plan for the remainder of the summer. Masse currently ranks No. 1 in the world this season after posting a 58.54 back in February.
