Elizabeth Beisel was in the hospital a week before coming to Omaha, managed to gut out a spot on the Olympic team in the 400 IM, and then proceeded to sprain and fracture her finger in the warm-down pool midway through the meet.
But Beisel has continued to push on through in an attempt to qualify for the 200 back at a third straight Olympics. After qualifying third in prelims, Beisel stopped to speak with Swimming World and discuss where she is and how she is feeling right now. She explained how she got hurt and how much pain she currently feels, and she also discussed her relationship with Laura Sogar.
