Connor Jaeger and his teammates from Club Wolverine made the trip down from Michigan to Georgia to compete in Athens Sectionals. Jaeger finished second in the 200 IM and third in the 200 free, and he had earned the top qualifying time out of prelims in the 400 free before pulling out of the final on Saturday night and bringing his meet to an early end.
Jaeger took a few minutes before finals on Saturday night to speak with Swimming World’s David Rieder. Jaeger explained why he pulled out of the final and his plans for the final stretch of training headed into World Championships. Jaeger also spoke about how he plans to handle a daunting slate of events at the World Championships, where he will swim the 400, 800, and 1500 free events over the span of eight days.
