USA Swimming Sectionals, Greensboro: SwimMAC Pros Close Out Triumphant Meet
GREENSBORO, North Carolina, March 11. THE SwimMAC pros dominated the USA Swimming Sectionals in Greensboro for the most part, and the final day proved no different.
SwimMAC's Madison Kennedy topped the women's 100 free in 55.31. Star's Faith Johnson grabbed second-place honors in 56.15, while Virginia Gators' Eva Hannesdottir took third in 56.33. In another SwimMAC pro throwdown, Josh Schneider won the men's 100 free in 50.11. Cullen Jones (50.30), Davis Tarwater (50.54) and Eugene Godsoe (50.62) took second through fourth.
SwimMAC's Nick Thoman dominated the men's 200 back in 2:00.77, while teammate Kevin Glenn placed second in 2:05.14. YMCA Hub Fin Tynan Stewart finished third in 2:05.25. Justine Mueller clocked a 2:16.07 to win the women's 200 IM. SwimMAC's Micah Lawrence (2:18.62) and Nicole Emery (2:19.56) completed the podium.
SwimAtlanta's Rachel Muller claimed the women's 1500 free in 17:07.20, while Marlins of Raleigh's Kendall Pena placed second in 17:19.95. SwimAtlanta's Rachael Dudley rounded out the top three in 17:25.06. Dynamo's Matias Koski clinched the men's 1500 free in 15:23.33. UNC's Daniel O'Connor finished second in 15:52.60, while Rays' Jimmy Yoder earned third in 15:57.10.
Results from the women's 200 back and men's 200 IM were not available.
