When Ryan Murphy was young, he would get so nervous before his races that he carried a “Puke Bucket” up to the blocks with him, he reveals in the USA Swimming Olympic introduction video series.

Luckily, the 21 year old has developed a better handle on his nerves in his 16 year long swimming career. At Olympic Trials earlier this summer, the Cal swimmer won the 100 and 200 backstrokes. He heads to his first Olympic Games with the second best times in the world this year in each of those events.
