Jordan Wilimosky will make a historic first-time Olympic appearance, as he will compete in both the pool and open water. He is the first American swimmer to achieve that feat.
The 22 year old spoke about the difficulties and unpredictable elements associated with open water swimming. Wilimovsky compared that to the simplicity of racing the clock in the pool.
At the 2015 World Championships, he won the 10K to earn an Olympic berth. At Trials this summer, he touched second in the 1500 freestyle, with the sixth best time in the world this year.
