In the first final of Olympic Trials Jay Litherland set the tone for Olympic rookies and for the University of Georgia as he chased down veteran Ryan Lochte in the 400 IM and clinched his spot on the 2016 Olympic Team.
The rising junior describes the moment he shared with his triplet brothers after making the team, and also shares their love for water, dating back to playing in their backyard pool. In his USA Swimming introduction video, the Olympic rookie told the story of a 100 long course backstroke in which he flipped part way down the pool.
