UNC Wilmington Keeps Morgan Kondratick, Peyton Wilson In State for 2021

NEW COMMITS: UNC Wilmington has kept two standouts in-state for the fall of 2021 after scoring verbal commitments from Morgan Kondratick of Holly Springs and Peyton Wilson of Reidsville, N.C.

Both talented swimmers will join Molly Braun, Sarah Rogillio, and Reece Alexander and Katie Knorr as a member of the Seahawks’ class of 2025 under newly-appointed head coach Bobby Guntoro.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at unc wilmington next fall! I’d like to thank my coaches, family, friends & my rsa family for helping me get to this point. I am eager to take advantage of all of the opportunities uncw has to offer me!”

Primarily a sprinter, Kondratick trains year-round with Raleigh Swimming Association and recorded five best times at Cary Sectionals after finaling in two events at North Carolina Seniors. Last summer, she sprinted to 12th in the 50m free at North Carolina LCM Seniors and took 24th in that event at Greensboro Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.88
  • 100 free – 52.31
  • 200 free – 1:55.05
  • 100 back – 59.24
  • 100 fly – 58.86

Also competing for Holly Springs High School, Kondratick has competed at the North Carolina 4A State Championships the last three years. She placed eighth in the 100 free and 11th in the 50 free as a junior while taking ninth in the latter event during her sophomore season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so extremely excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at UNCW! A huge thank you to my family, friends, and all of my coaches that have helped me achieve my lifelong dream! I’m so excited to be a part of such an amazing team. Go Seahawks!!”

Wilson, who does her club swimming with Greensboro YMCA, finished fourth in the mile, sixth in the 1000 free, and ninth in the 500 free at North Carolina Seniors in February. She also took 21st in the 1500m free and 24th in the 800m free at YMCA LCM Nationals last summer after taking sixth and 11th in those events at North Carolina LCM Seniors.

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:55.40
  • 500 free – 5:01.75
  • 1000 free – 10:26.60
  • 1650 free – 17:26.36

A current senior at Rockingham County Senior, Wilson is a six-time North Carolina 3A State Championship finalist. She finished ninth in the 500 free and 13th in the 200 free during her junior season while taking eighth and 10th, respectively, in those events as a sophomore.
