Molly Braun, Sarah Rogillio Announce Verbal Commitments to UNC Wilmington

NEW COMMITS: UNC Wilmington has added two new verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Oreland, Pa. native Molly Braun and Sarah Rogillio of Austin, Texas.

Both talented swimmers will join Reece Alexander and Katie Knorr as a member of the Seahawks’ class of 2025 under newly-appointed head coach Bobby Guntoro.

She told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academics career at UNCW. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and family members for all their love and support. Can’t wait to be a Seahawk”

A Junior National qualifier, Braun does her club swimming with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and was an eight-time finalist at Middle Atlantic SCY in March 2019 where her highest finish was a sixth-place showing in the 200 fly. She also had a strong show at NCSAs last long course season where she achieved four best times.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 55.29
  • 200 fly – 2:05.93
  • 50 free – 23.95
  • 100 free – 52.11

Also competing for Upper Dublin High School, Braun is a five-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. She finished sixth in the 100 fly and 18th in the 100 free as a junior while taking 10th and 13th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at UNCW! Thank you to all my coaches, parents, teammates and friends who have helped me along the way! Go Seahawks!!!”

A versatile swimmer, Rogillio swims year-round with Austin Swim Club and most recently won the 400 IM with four additional top-6 finishes at the STAGS SC Championships in February. Last summer, she earned bronze in the 200m IM and placed eighth in the 100m breast at Southern Zone Age Groups.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:06.84
  • 400 IM – 4:29.89
  • 100 breast – 1:07.18
  • 200 free – 1:53.07
  • 500 free – 4:59.27

A current senior at LC Anderson High School, Rogillio placed 13th in the 500 free as a junior at the Texas 6A State Championships. She is also a six-time UIL 6A Region 03 Championship finalist, finishing third in the 200 IM and sixth in the 500 free in 2020.
