Swimming World Launches Swimming World Mobile For Smartphones; Expands Content
PHOENIX, Arizona, March 16. TODAY, Swimming World officially announced the launch of Swimming World Mobile and the expansion of content on its home page. Now, you can access SwimmingWorld.com or SwimmingWorld.TV from smartphones and mobile devices plus get more news through traditional PC and laptop browsers.
“We have made it our priority to upgrade our technology across the board so that our content can reach our readers and viewers anywhere, anyway, anytime. As of today, when you visit our site from mobile devices, you will be automatically redirected to Swimming World Mobile. This site is more streamlined and robust than our full site.
“This update involved creating a separate website navigation and content consumption infrastructure. It takes advantage of the accessibility options available on a smartphone,” said Brent Rutemiller, CEO for Sports Publications International, publishers of Swimming World print and online content.
All articles, videos, results and records found on the full site are now completely compliant within smartphone browsers!
Mobile users will quickly learn that they can select a specific news channel and go directly to their favorite content such as college swimming, water polo, open water, etc. For the first time, users will be able to watch the Morning Swim Show, view event races, download results, and find records when they visit Swimming World Mobile.
To coincide with Swimming World Mobile, the .COM full site layout now includes more home page stories, twitter and Facebook content. Tablet users, including iPad owners, will also notice a more user friendly site that allows for full viewing of videos. These features were formerly non-accessible for these devices.
“We've worked hard to convert many of our non-compliant code into versions that work well with desktop, laptop and tablet computers. We still have other upgrades in progress that will provide our supporters the best experience possible! Our goal is to provide the richest, most accurate content to the swimming community in a timely manner to all platforms,” said Rutemiller.
