NEW COMMIT: The University of Arkansas has earned a new verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from Summer Juniors qualifier Anna Ervin of Cypress, Texas.

Ervin swims year-round with Fleet Swimming, part of Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club, and most recently placed sixth in the 100m fly at Des Moines Futures this past summer. Last winter, the two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American raced three events at Juniors West before going on to earn five best times at College Station Sectionals. Also competing for Cypress Fairbanks, Ervin finished ninth in the 100 fly at the Texas 6A State Championships during her sophomore season and 14th in that event as a freshman.

She told Swimming World:

“God is so good!!  I am so incredibly grateful to announce my verbal commitment to continue my studies and swimming at the University of Arkansas. I could not have done this without my family, coaches, teammates, and friends and all their love and support. I am excited to see what the next 4 years have in store and am over the moon to become a Razorback! #woopigsooie”

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 55.55
  • 200 fly – 2:07.22
  • 50 free – 23.83
  • 100 free – 51.58
  • 100 back – 57.65
  • 200 IM – 2:08.72

Ervin has continuously made improvements each season and will look to capitalize on her recent success this upcoming short course season. She will add her talents to a training squad led by Anna Hopkin, Kobie Melton and Molly Moore and will also join Lizzy Linartas and Bradi Jones in Fayetteville next fall.
