NEW COMMIT: Opelika, Ala. native and rising senior Bradi Jones has declared her verbal intention to swim and study at the University of Arkansas beginning in the fall of 2020.

Jones swims year-round with Opelika Swim Team under head coach Tyler McGill and recently won both breaststroke events at the Southeastern SCY Championships in February. Also competing for Opelika High School, Jones is a three-time Alabama State Championship finalist and has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors. She placed third in the 100 breast and 16th in the 200 IM as a junior after finishing fourth in the former event during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so blessed to announce my verbal commitment to further my swimming and academic career at The University of Arkansas. I can’t thank Jesus enough for blessing me with this sport and countless opportunities to do what I love. Thank you to my coaches, family, friends, and everyone who has been there to support me along this journey to help my dream become a reality. Super excited to be a part of the razorback family! WOO PIG SOOIE”

Her best times include:

  • 50 breast – 29.56
  • 100 breast – 1:03.37
  • 200 breast – 2:18.31

When she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024, Jones will add valuable breaststroke depth to a training group that’ll include Vanessa Herrmann and Emma Garfield. Although she’s just shy of scoring range at the SEC Championships, she has continuously made improvements each season with over a year to go before suiting up for the Razorbacks.
