NEW COMMIT: The University of Arkansas has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from talented butterflyer Lizzy Linartas of Lake Mary, Fla.

Linartas swims year-round with Blue Dolfins and most recently competed at Greensboro Futures where she placed 15th in the 200m fly and 17th in the 100m free after recording four best times at Gainesville Sectionals this past summer. She finished fifth in both the 100 fly and 200 fly at the Florida Spring Championships before going on to race both of those events at NCSAs in March. Also competing for Lake Brantley High School, Linartas competed in the 100 fly and 200 free at the Florida 4A State Championships during her junior season.

She told Swimming World:

“I chose the University of Arkansas because I absolutely loved every aspect about campus; the coaches and team made me feel so welcome and at home. In addition to SEC athletics and awesome academic support, everyone was so helpful and supportive throughout this process. I can’t wait to be a razorback!!! Wooo pig sooie”

Her best times include:

  • 50 fly – 26.29
  • 100 fly – 56.17
  • 200 fly – 2:03.98
  • 100 free – 52.41
  • 200 free – 1:53.19

When she suits up for the Razorbacks as a member of the class of 2024, Linartas will add her talents to a young butterfly training group that’ll include Anna Hopkin and Kobie Melton. She will also join Bradi Jones in Fayetteville next fall.
