Editorial Coverage Sponsored By FINIS
During the media day this past weekend at USA Swimming’s Olympic team training camp in San Antonio, Michael Phelps held a press conference to give a status report on this year’s rookie-laden squad and how he’s enjoying the experience of getting ready for a fifth Olympic games.
Phelps discussed what he’s seen from two-time Swimming World World Swimmer of the Year Katie Ledecky so far both in and out of the pool and why he likes using Facebook live to document the team’s activities. He went into how hard it has been being separated from his newborn son Boomer, discussed how his life has changed since winning eight gold medals in 2008 and also fielded questions about the team’s visit with San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and point guard Tony Parker.
