NEW COMMIT: Middleton, Mass. native Ann Walsh has announced her verbal to stay in-state and swim for Assumption College. She will join Sophia Lumina, Faith Somody, Allison Barclay and Emmie Laspada as members of the class of 2023.

Walsh swims year-round with Phoenix Swimming under head coach Lori Paszko and also competes for Masconomet Regional High School. She swam a trio of lifetime bests at the MIAA State Championships during her junior year after placing eighth in the 500 free at the North Section meet. She recorded a pair of best times, including a tenth-place 500 free showing, at State during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at Assumption College!  I am so appreciative and thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of such an awesome team and community!  Go Hounds!”

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 2:05.67
  • 500 free – 5:22.08
  • 100 fly – 1:04.09
  • 200 fly – 2:26.59

When she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season, Walsh will join a mid-distance group that includes Colleen Kurtz, Emma Magna and Ann Guadalupi and a fly group led by Natalia Kaczor. The Greyhounds finished second at last season’s NE-10 Championships.
