Barclay swims year-round with Tennessee Aquatics and capped off her long course season with a personal best in every event she swam at the Southeastern LCM Championships. The Knoxville, Tenn. native also competes for Bearden High School and has qualified for the Tennessee State Championships every year so far. As a junior, she finaled in the 500 free at State.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Assumption College! I’m so thankful for all my coaches, family, and friends who helped me throughout this process. Go Hounds!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 54.93
  • 200 free – 1:57.83
  • 500 free – 5:10.99
  • 1000 free – 11:08.87
  • 1650 free – 18:26.66

Barclay’s versatility across freestyle distances will be extremely beneficial for the Greyhounds next fall. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 500 free at the 2018 NE-10 Conference Championships and she’ll join a strong training group led by rising senior Colleen Kurtz.

She told Swimming World:

“I am very excited to announce my commitment to Assumption College for the fall of 2019! I can’t wait to join Coach Cromarty and the swimmers I have met in the upcoming season!! Go Hounds!!”

Laspada will be valuable to the Greyhounds when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season. She’ll join a breaststroke training group that includes Abbey Holmes, Isabelle Roberts and Hannah Nitso. Assumption finished second at last season’s NE-10 Championships.
