A native of Peabody, Mass., Lumino does her club swimming with YMCA of the North Shore. She has competed at YMCA Nationals and finished eighth in the 200 IM (2:08.98) at the New England 15-18 Age Group Championship meet. Representing Bishop Fenwick High School, Lumino was a four-time finalist at the Massachusetts D2 State Championships during her freshman and sophomore years.

She told Swimming World:

“I am proud to announce my commitment to Assumption College in the fall of 2019! The second I stood on the Assumption campus, I knew it was the place for me to grow academically and raise my swimming to the next level. The feeling I experienced, being welcomed into the Assumption family by Coach Stuart and the swim team was incomparable. Thank you to my family, teammates and especially my coaches who pushed me to where I am today. Go Hounds!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:06.74
  • 200 breast – 2:24.96
  • 100 fly – 58.64
  • 200 IM – 2:07.78
  • 400 IM – 4:28.39
  • 50 free – 24.71

Lumino’s versatility will be extremely beneficial for the Greyhounds next fall. She would’ve scored in the A-final in six different events at the 2018 NE-10 Conference Championships and her 400 IM time would’ve been the fastest on the team last season by eight seconds.

Somody swims year-round for Italian Center Swim Club and is a native of Stamford, Conn. She recently competed at the Connecticut Swimming Senior LCM Championships and recorded two new best times. Somody also swims for Westhill High School where she was a finalist in the 100 back as a junior.

She told Swimming World:

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for Assumption College. As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew this was the school for me both academically and athletically. I know that I will continue to grow as a student-athlete at Assumption. Go Hounds!”
Her best times include:
  • 100 back – 59.43
  • 200 back – 2:12.80
  • 50 free – 25.86
  • 100 free – 54.47

Somody will be valuable to the Greyhounds when she arrives on campus for the 2019-20 season. Her best 100 back time would’ve been the second fastest on Assumption’s roster last season. She would’ve scored in the A final of the 100 back and the B final of the 200 at last season’s conference meet.
