Penny Oleksiak Powers to 50 Fly Knockout Win in Santa Clara

The first round of the Women’s 50 Fly Knockout in Santa Clara was a race between Kelsi Dahlia, Penny Oleksiak, Farida Osman, Sarah Gibson, Katie McLaughlin, Hellen Moffitt, Maggie MacNeil, Haley Black and Talia Bates.

In the opening round, Dahlia had a close win in 26.36. Oleksiak was close behind in 26.43 with Osman finishing third in 26.57 and Gibson in fourth (26.70).

Osman came out on top in the semifinals, bettering her time by nearly half a second in 26.05. Oleksiak (26.16) was second, Dahlia (26.58) third and Gibson (26.75) fourth.

In the final round only minutes later, Oleksiak dropped another tenth of a second to claim the victory in 26.06 ahead of Osman’s 26.32.
