Nova Southeastern Assistant Rita Koryukova Diagnosed With Hodgkin’s Lymphoma; Donate to the GoFundMe
Nova Southeastern University swimming assistant coach Rita Koryukova has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A GoFundMe has been started by former teammates at Wingate to cover the expenses for her and her husband Chris Morris, who is also a coach at Pine Crest Swimming in Fort Lauderdale.
You can donate to Rita Koryukova’s GoFundMe page here.
Koryukova joined the staff at Nova Southeastern in Davie, Florida in 2018. She was previously a coach at the University of Sioux Falls and helped coach the team to a 21st place at the Division II NCAAs in just its second season of competition. She helped qualify five swimmers to NCAAs in the school’s first year as a program.
Rita Koryukova originally hails from Omsk, Russia and swam at Division II Wingate University in North Carolina. She won three national titles while at Wingate, including the 200 free relay and 200 IM in 2016, and the 400 medley relay in 2015.
From her teammates at Wingate on her GoFundMe page:
Rita Koryukova is a Wingate Swimming alumni. Throughout her four years she was a fierce competitor and a dedicated teammate. During that time, she became an All-American and was a part of three winning national championship relays. Her passion for swimming has continued after graduation and has eventually brought her to Nova Southeastern University as an Assistant Coach. Unfortunately, Rita has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and needs your help! We would like to offer her and her husband Chris some peace of mind during this difficult time by creating this fundraiser. Please join us in helping Rita!
Nova Southeastern is a Division II school in Davie, Florida. They qualified nine men and six women to the Division II NCAAs, and the men were third after one day of NCAAs while the women were seventh before the rest of the meet got cancelled.
