The NCAA Division I Men’s Championships continued with two swim-offs in the afternoon.

The 200 freestyle swim-off decided who would make the A final. The 100 backstroke swim-off determined the final spot in the B final.

In the 200 freestyle, Arizona State’s Patrick Sammon and Indiana’s Rafael Miroslaw tied at 1:32.28 for the eighth spot. It required a swim-off that Sammon won to advance to the A final.

In the 100 backstroke, Notre Dame’s Tommy Janton and Stanford’s Leon MacAlister tied for 16th at 45.54.

Janton won the swim-off in 45.12, while MacAlister finished in 45.39.

The winners will join the field for tonight with finals of the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke.

Check out the heat sheets to see what showdowns loom tonight. The evening session includes the finals of 3-meter diving and the 400 medley relay.
