In this Morning Swim Show episode, Allison Schmitt said, “I wasn’t expecting it (American Record), but I was trying to go out fast. I was not thinking about my time. I was just thinking about keeping with my strategy,” after winning the 200 Meter Freestyle at the 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Trials and setting the American Record.
Schmitt went on to win gold in London re-breaking her American record and set a new Olympic record in the process.
