Lady Vols Add 2025 Verbal From Sectional Champion Nicole Zettel
NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has picked up another big verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Nicole Zettel of Holly Springs, North Carolina.
She will join Mere Whelehan, Avery Luedke and Lilly Robertson as a member of the Lady Vols’ Class of 2029.
She told Swimming World:

Zettel does her club swimming with TAC Titans. She finished fourth in the 200m IM and seventh in the 400m IM this past summer at Ocala Futures. Last winter, she won the 500 free, 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM at Cary Sectionals.
Currently a junior at Apex Friendship High School, Zettel won the 500 free and took third in the 200 IM at the 2023 North Carolina 4A State Championships.
Her best times include:
- 400 IM – 4:11.10
- 200 IM – 1:59.27
- 500 free – 4:46.58
- 200 free – 1:47.80
- 100 free – 50.95
- 100 fly – 54.25
- 200 fly – 1:58.26
- 100 back – 55.87
- 200 back – 1:59.24
- 1650 free – 16:48.67
Zettel’s best times would already score in the B-final of the 200 fly and 400 IM and the C-final of the 200 IM at SEC Championships.
Her older sister, Brooke Zettel, is currently a junior on the swim team at Virginia Tech.
