Kentucky Gets Another Verbal for 2022-23 Season from Junior National Qualifier Lucy Reber

NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has picked up another verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season from Junior National qualifier Lucy Reber of Hudson, Ohio.

She will join Lydia Hanlon, Grace FrericksMarin McKeeJordan Agliano and Breckin Gormley in Lexington as a member of the Wildcats’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Kentucky! Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for helping me through this process! Can’t wait to be part of such an amazing program!!! Go cats??”

A talented backstroker, Reber does her club swimming with the Cleveland Swim Institute and earned five best times at the Spire 18&U Winter Championships last month where she finished third in the four events. Last winter, she registered seven top-16 finishes at Lake Erie Seniors.

In Summer 2019, she finaled in three events at Cleveland Sectionals before going on to grab bronze in the 100m fly at Lake Erie LCM Seniors. Reber then raced three events at Geneva Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 27.11
  • 100 back – 57.15
  • 200 back – 2:00.72
  • 200 IM – 2:06.616
  • 400 IM – 4:29.00

Currently a junior at Hudson High School, Reber placed 15th in the 200 IM at the Ohio State Championships as a freshman. During her sophomore season, she finished fifth in both the 200 IM and 500 free at the Northeast District Championships.

Under head coach Lars Jorgensen, the Wildcats finished third at the 2020 SEC Championships.
