NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has officially entered the 2022 recruiting game after receiving a verbal commitment from Jordan Agliano of Orlanda, Fla.

She will arrive in Lexington as a member of the Wildcats’ Class of 2026.

She told Swimming World:

“So beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swim career at the University of Kentucky. The moment I stepped on campus I knew Lexington had the best opportunities for me to excel and grow as a person and swimmer. I’d like to thank my coaches, friends, teammates, and family for the endless support. Go Wildcats”

A versatile swimmer, Agliano does her club swimming with Highland Aquatic Club and owns several Junior National standards. She earned a PB at Juniors East in December and most recently finished third in the 200m back, fourth in the 100m fly, and seventh in the 100m back at the Florida OT Qualifier.

Last summer, she registered six top-18 finishes at Gainesville Sectionals before going on to win the 50m fly and 200m IM at the Florida LCM Senior Championships. Agliano also raced eight events at NCSAs in March 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 54.35
  • 200 fly – 2:04.24
  • 200 IM – 2:02.38
  • 400 IM – 4:24.73
  • 100 back – 57.71
  • 200 back – 1:58.74
  • 100 free – 50.88
  • 200 free – 1:49.56
  • 500 free – 4:53.20

A current junior at Lake Nona High School where she also plays water polo, Agliano is already a four-time Florida 4A State Championship finalist. She placed third in the 100 fly and fourth in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking 12th and eighth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

Agliano will add valuable depth in a number of different areas when she arrives on campus at the start of the 2022-23 season. She’ll join a butterfly group that will include Caitlin Brooks and Trinity Ward as well as a backstroke group led by Lauren Poole.

Under head coach Lars Jorgensen, the Wildcats finished third at the 2020 SEC Championships.
