NEW COMMIT: The University of Wisconsin has scored a new verbal for the fall of 2021 from Egg Harbor Township, N.J. native Katie McClintock who announced her commitment via Instagram. She’ll join Abby Carlson as well as Nation’s Capital teammates Mackenzie McConagha and Paige McKenna in the fall of 2021.

McClintock does her club swimming with Egg Harbor Township Seahawks and owns six Summer Juniors standards. She placed seventh in the 200m breast at Junior Nationals this past summer after recording five top-5 finishes at Mid-Atlantic LCM Seniors. Last winter, she competed in five events at Juniors East before going on to win the 100 back and take silver in four races at Mid-Atlantic SCY Seniors.

A current junior at Mainland Regional High School, McClintock is already a four-time finalist at the New Jersey Meet of Champions. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 200 IM and was the 100 back runner-up as a sophomore while placing second in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 breast during her sophomore season.

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 55.23
  • 200 back – 1:59.59
  • 100 breast – 1:02.47
  • 200 breast – 2:13.57
  • 200 IM – 2:00.30
  • 400 IM – 4:16.20

When she suits up for the Badgers as a member of the class of 2025, McClintock will make a big impact even with just under two years of club swimming still to go. She would’ve placed in the B-final of the 400 IM as well as the C-final of the 200 IM and 200 breast at the 2019 Big Ten Championships where Wisconsin finished fifth overall in the team standings.
