NEW COMMIT: Israeli record holder Eitan Ben-Shitrit of Ra’anana will take his talents to the University of Michigan beginning this fall.

He will join Kevin Maas, Matthew Kroll, Ozan Kalafat, Lucas Hodgson and Logan Zucker as a member of the Class of 2026.

In SCM, his best times include:

  • 200 IM: 1:56.36
  • 400 IM: 4:07.55
  • 200 free: 1:45.45

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 200 IM: 1:44.82
  • 400 IM: 3:43.01
  • 200 free: 1:35.00

At the World Short Course Championships in Abu Dhabi, Ben-Shitrit placed sixth in the 400m IM and also broke the Israeli record with a 52.45 fly split on the 4x100m medley relay. He also finished eighth in the 400m IM at the European Short Course Championships back in the fall.

His converted time in the 400 IM would’ve placed fifth at the 2022 Big Ten Championships.
