Hershey Aquatic Club’s Tori Tafuto Will Remain In State, Sends Verbal to Nittany Lions

NEW COMMIT: Hummelstown, Pa. native Victoria “Tori” Tafuto has opted to remain in-state for her college career and has sent her verbal commitment to Penn State for the 2021-22 season and beyond.

She will join Tori Howard, Molly PedersenMolly CarsonShelby KahnMarly LoughMaura Fluehr and Mac Sullivan in State College as members of the Nittany Lions’ class of 2025.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Penn State University??‍♀️?”

A talented sprint freestyle, Tafuto is a Futures qualifier who does her club swimming with Hershey Aquatic Club. At Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors last summer, she earned seven best times and finaled in both the 50m and 100m free. She also placed 17th in the 50m free and 18th in the 100m free at TYR Junior Nationals in March 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.72
  • 100 free – 52.04
  • 200 IM – 2:11.18

A rising senior at Hershey High School, Tafuto is a three-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. She raced to 10th in the 50 free as a junior while taking 11th in that event as well as 14th in the 100 free during her sophomore season.

When she suits up for the Nittany Lions in the fall of 2021, Tafuto will add her talents to a sprint training group led by Olivia Jack and Abbie Amdor.
