NEW COMMIT: Georgia Tech has earned a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Louisville, Ky. native Caroline Pape.

She will join SwimAtlanta teammates Sarah Livingston and Lily Burke in Atlanta as a member of the Yellow Jackets’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgia Tech! I would like to thank my family, coaches, friends, and teammates for all they have done and all the support they have given me through the years. I am so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait. GO JACKETS!!”

A talented freestyler and butterflyer, Pape does her club swimming with Lakeside Swim Team and most recently posted five top-25 finishes at the Southern Premier Invitational. Last summer, she finished ninth in both the 50m free and 400m IM at the Kentucky LCM Championships before going on to race six events at NCSAs.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.07
  • 100 free – 50.88
  • 200 free – 1:49.44
  • 500 free – 5:01.84
  • 100 fly – 55.78
  • 200 fly – 2:05.15

A rising senior at Sacred Heart Academy, Pape is a four-time Kentucky State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned silver in the 100 free and bronze in the 200 free as a junior while taking fifth and sixth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

Pape also helped her team achieve their eighth-straight Kentucky state title in 2020 en route to swimming the third leg on the victorious 4×50 free relay.
