Five-Time Georgia 7A State Champion Lily Burke Verbals to Yellow Jackets for 2021

NEW COMMIT: Georgia Tech has secured an in-state verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from Lilburn, Ga. native and U.S. Open qualifier Lily Burke.

She is the Yellow Jackets’ first verbal commitment for their class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am honored to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgia Tech! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for supporting me throughout this whole process. I can’t wait to see what my future a Tech brings!! #gojackets!”

An incredibly versatile swimmer, Burke does her club swimming with SwimAtlanta and owns seven Junior National (or faster) standards. She most recently placed seventh in the 200 IM and eighth in the 200 free at the Southern Premier Invitational after finishing 17th in the 400 IM at Juniors East in December.

Last summer, she won the 100m free at the Georgia State Senior Long Course Championships where she also was the runner-up in the 50m free, 200m free, and 400m IM.

400 IM – 4:18.55
50 back – 26.71
100 back – 56.63
200 back – 2:00.88
50 free – 23.90
100 free – 50.70
200 free – 1:49.39

Also competing for Brookwood High School, Burke is a six-time Georgia 7A State Championship finalist. She won the 100 free and 200 IM as a sophomore and as a junior while taking first and third, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
