Freestyler Allison Bischoff Pledges 2025 Verbal to Virginia

NEW COMMIT: The University of Virginia has received an in-state verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from freestyle specialist Allison Bischoff out of Henrico, Virginia.

She will join Raya Mellott, Sophia UmsteadSylvia Roy and Madi Mintenko in Charlottesville as a member of the Cavaliers’ Class of 2029.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia! I want to give a huge thanks to my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to where I am today. I also want to thank the coaches at Virginia for giving me this amazing opportunity! I cannot wait to be a Hoo! WAHOOWA”

Bischoff, who does her club swimming with NOVA of Virginia Aquatics, most recently earned a best time at Juniors East. She won the 400m free at Virginia Long Course Seniors this past summer and placed eighth in both the 500 free and 1000 free at NCSA Spring Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.74
  • 100 free – 50.77
  • 200 free – 1:48.82
  • 500 free – 4:51.52
  • 1000 free – 9:59.07
  • 1650 free – 16:54.32

Currently a junior at Freeman High School, Bischoff won the 200 free and was the 100 free runner-up at the 2023 Virginia Class 5 State Championships. She finished third and sixth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

The Cavaliers are the three-time defending national champions. Bischoff’s best time in the 500 free would’ve placed in the C-final of the 500 free at the 2023 ACC Championships while her top mile time would’ve scored 24th.
