Caeleb Dressel Wins 100 Free; Adrian Quick in Consols at TYR Pro Swim Series Santa Clara

Caeleb Dressel had an extremely casual swim during prelims of the 100 free at the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series in Santa Clara on Saturday.

After swimming with a practice suit in prelims, Dressel moved up from his seventh seed in prelims to win the 100 free in 48.96.

Dressel held off a surging Michael Chadwick (49.28) and Zach Apple (49.45). Markus Thormeyer — who beat Dressel in Vancouver last week — was fourth (49.74), followed by Dean Farris (49.93), Long Gutierrez (49.97), Michael Jensen (50.11), Josh Fleagle (50.44) and Ryan Murphy (50.65).

Nathan Adrian won the consolation final in 48.99, the second-fastest time of the meet after an off prelims swim.
