Both American Women Move Onto Platform Semifinals

Chinese divers Si Yajie and Ren Qian dominated women’s ten meter preliminaries, coming in first and second. Both women are in the Olympics for the fist time, and Ren is only fifteen years old. American Jessica Parratto trails them but forty points standing in this place. Both Americans Parratto and Katrina Young will will be moving onto the semifinal round tomorrow. Young finished preliminaries in twelfth place.
Kim Yun Hyang from North Korea, the 2015 World Aquatics Championship gold medalist will not be continuing onto the next round. She finished in eighteenth place after a detrimental final dive.
Great Britain’s Tonia Couch will be continuing onto finals as well, she finished preliminaries in fifth place. Her teammate Sarah Barrow will not move onto the semifinals after finishing in twenty third place.
Both semifinals and finals are scheduled for tomorrow. The semifinals will take place at 9am local time, and the finals are set for 3pm local time.
