Big Ten Weekly Honors: Max McHugh, Amy Fulmer Lead Swimming Award Winners

The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly swimming and diving award winners.

Big Ten Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Amy Fulmer, Ohio State

Jr. – Bellefontaine, Ohio – Bellefontaine

  • Won the 100 freestyle (48.46) and 200 freestyle (1:46.42) in a 152.5-147.5 victory over Michigan
  • Posted NCAA ‘B’ cuts in both races
  • Part of the first-place 400 freestyle relay (3:15.41) and 200 medley relay (1:36.95) teams
  • Earns her second career Swimmer of the Week honor
  • Last Ohio State Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Josie Panitz (Jan. 26, 2022)

 

Big Ten Women’s Diver of the Week

Kristen Hayden, Indiana

Sr. – Hillsborough, N.J. – Panther Creek

  • Won both the 1-meter (335.33) and 3-meter (399.38) competitions in a 148-111 victory over Evansville
  • Garners her third career Diver of the Week honor
  • Last Indiana Women’s Diver of the Week: Tarrin Gilliland (Jan. 26, 2022)

 

Big Ten Women’s Freshman of the Week

Hannah Cornish, Minnesota

Port Perry, Ontario – Uxbridge Secondary School (Ontario)

  • Won two races in the triple dual against Northwestern and Iowa
  • Part of the first-place 200 freestyle relay that posted an NCAA automatic time of 1:28.43
  • Won the 200 freestyle with an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 1:46.09
  • Recorded NCAA provisional times in the 50 freestyle (22.43) and 100 freestyle (48.77)
  • Part of the 400 freestyle relay (3:15.82) and 800 freestyle relay (7:12.06) teams
  • Earns her second career Freshman of the Week honor
  • Last Minnesota Women’s Freshman of the Week: Hannah Cornish (Nov. 3, 2021)

Max McHugh, Minnesota

Sr. – Sturgeon Bay, Wis. – Sevastopol

  • Won three races in the triple dual against Northwestern and Purdue
  • Won the 100 breaststroke with an NCAA automatic time of 50.58, the fastest time nationally this season
  • Won the 200 breaststroke with an NCAA provisional time of 1:52.57
  • Part of the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:24.98)
  • Part of the 200 freestyle (1:19.75) and 400 freestyle (2:58.97) relay teams
  • Earns his seventh career Swimmer of the Week award and second of the season
  • Last Minnesota Men’s Swimmer of the Week: Max McHugh (Dec. 8, 2021)

 

Big Ten Men’s Diver and Freshman of the Week

Jordan Rzepka, Purdue

Fr. – Solon, Ohio – New Albany

  • Won the 1-meter (375.45), 3-meter (434.40), and platform (360.95) competitions against Minnesota and Northwestern
  • Garners his first career Diver of the Week honor
  • Garners his first career Freshman of the Week honor
  • Last Purdue Men’s Diver of the Week: Tyler Downs (Nov. 24, 2021)
  • Last Purdue Men’s Freshman of the Week: Luke Fortner (Jan. 12, 2022)
