Arkansas Swims Past Vanderbilt on Senior Day

The University of Arkansas women’s swimming and diving team defeated Vanderbilt 145-108 in an SEC showdown on senior day.

Before the meet, the Razorbacks recognized and celebrated four seniors — Aris Runnels, Delaney Harrison, Malea Martinez and Sydney Craft — and their successful contributions to the Razorbacks Swimming and Diving program.

Arkansas opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Runnels, Lindy Hunter, Harrison and Harriet Rogers got to the wall in 1:39.17.

Runnels won the 100 backstroke in 54.07. Rogers won the 50 free in 22.13.

Craft won the 1000 freestyle in 10:17.38 and 200 fly in 1:59.51 for Arkansas. Tammy Greenwood won the 200 free in 1:48.68 and 200 back in 1:57.97. Ellen Garritson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.46. Viola Petrini won the 100 free in 50.09.

Rogers, Runnels, Craft and Harrison won the 400 free relay in 3:20.49.

Vanderbilt’s Melissa Cowen won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:13.64. The Commodores had a couple of other wins because Arkansas swimmers were exhibitioned.
