2022 NCAA Division III Championships: Emory Pacing Men’s Field; Three-Way Battle On Women’s Side

Emory didn’t have any individual titlists on Day Three of the NCAA Division III Championships, but it punctuated the night with a record in the 800-yard freestyle relat and will carry a major lead into the final day of action. Emory has put up 338 points, and is followed by Denison and its 257 points. In third is Johns Hopkins with 248 points.

In the women’s meet, the final day will feature a spectacular three-way battle for the championship. While Kenyon left Day Three with the lead and 311 points, it was followed closely by Emory (307) and Denison (306.5). It’s likely the meet will come down to the final event, the 400 freestyle relay.

Men’s 100 Breaststroke

The seniors came to rule this event, as the top-three finishes were claimed by veterans. Cal Lutheran’s Luke Rodarte found himself in a tight race at the midway point, but pulled away at the end to win in 52.71. Rodarte had the only sub-28 split for the last 50 and that finishing strength enabled him to beat Max Chen of Johns Hopkins, who went 53.20, and Jason Hamilton of Emory, who was timed in 53.49.
