2018 Australian Pan Pacs Trials: Brianna Throssell, Mitch Larkin Win on Night 2

The 2018 Hancock Prospecting Pan Pacific Championship Trials opened its first full day Sunday at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Adelaide, with Australia’s best swimmers fighting for a spot on their country’s Pan Pacific Games roster.
There were 12 individual events in Sunday’s lineup and victories by Brianna Throssell and Mitch Larkin highlighted the finals session.

Matthew Levy won the multi-class 400 free, finishing in 4:51.25. Rowan Crothers finished in 4:09.73 and Brenden Hall in 4:22.62.

In the men’s 100 breaststroke, there was just one swimmer to break a minute. Jake Packard won the event in 59.63, holding off the rest of the field by nearly a half second.

Matthew Wilson finished second in 1:00.08, followed by Zac Stubblety-Cook in 1:00.49.

Jack McLoughlin and Zachary Attard locked into a head-to-head battle in the men’s 200 free.

In a race that came down to the final meters, McLoughlin won the race in 1:49.16, holding off Attard (1:49.46).

Jamie Parker was third 1:51.02.
